The Barrow and Furness Conservative Association have selected its candidate to fight the Barrow and Furness seat in the upcoming General Election.
Simon Fell, 34, has strong local connections to Barrow, Ulverston and Dalton and was born and raised locally.
Speaking after a packed selection meeting, Simon said:
“It is a privilege to have been selected as the candidate for Barrow and Furness. My family have lived in the area for generations, and the opportunity to fight to represent the people of Barrow and Furness in Parliament is a tremendous honour.
The government is building a sound economic recovery and, as a consequence, investment is flowing into the local area. But there is more work to be done. I will work with colleagues in government to secure a sustainable future for Barrow and Furness.
The upcoming election is a two horse race between the Conservatives and Labour. Barrow and Furness now have a real chance to elect a Conservative candidate who will be active and fight their corner in Westminster.
I look forward to the election campaign beginning in earnest and fighting a clean campaign on the issues.”

Simon Fell was born and raised in Lancashire. His family has lived in and around Barrow, Dalton and Ulverston since the early 1600s. He is married to Pippa.Simon has worked in telecoms and crime prevention, where he is currently Head of External Affairs. He has also run his own small business and worked in Westminster.
